Clean Slate started with a local farmer leaning across a counter and challenging me to make a bar tough enough for tomato season. Real stains. Real soil. Real work. I took that challenge personally.
This bar is built from the basics — pure, organic vegetable oils and coconut‑based activated charcoal. No fragrance. No dyes. No fillers. No shortcuts. Just honest ingredients doing what they do best.
A lot of charcoal soaps get their dark color from extra pigments or rely on mass‑balance palm oil while calling themselves “sustainable.” Clean Slate doesn’t play that game. Its deep, matte tone comes from true activated charcoal, and every batch is made by hand using the cold process method right here in the United States.
It’s a straightforward bar for hardworking hands, made with a tender respect for the people who use it.
